Rewards terms

These terms cover Mal Al Sham Rewards, the free member program in the Mal Al Sham app, run by Mal Al Sham, 388 E Main St, El Cajon, CA 92020. By joining you accept them. Questions: [email protected] or (619) 401-1055.

Joining

  • Rewards is free. You join in the app with your email address and a 6-digit code we email you. There is no password.
  • One account per person, 13 or older. Your account is personal and cannot be sold or shared.
  • You earn 50 welcome points once, when you save your name.

Earning points

  • You earn 1 point for every $1 of the subtotal on your receipt, before tax and tip, as recorded by the restaurant's register. The photo is only used to find the order; the amount always comes from the register.
  • Scan the paper receipt in the app within 7 days of your visit. One receipt a day earns points, and one receipt earns at most 300 points.
  • Each receipt earns points once. On a split bill, each payment earns once. The first valid scan counts.
  • Some receipts wait for a person before the points land: receipts in a new account's first week, split bills, large bills, and photos our checks cannot confirm. We usually decide within a day.
  • If an order is refunded, its points are taken back.
  • If someone else claimed your receipt, tell us in the app with "This is my receipt". We compare the card's last 4 digits and the amount with the register, and move the points to the person who paid.

Rewards and offers

  • The rewards and the points they need are listed in the app. To use one, open it at the counter and hand your phone to staff, who confirm it with their PIN within 5 minutes. The points are taken when staff confirm.
  • If you saved your birthday, you get a birthday offer, such as a free dessert, usable from 3 days before to 3 days after your birthday, once a year.
  • Rewards and offers have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred or combined with other offers unless the app says so, and they depend on the branch having the item.

Expiry

  • Points expire after 12 months without a visit that earns points.

Fair use

  • Only scan receipts for meals you paid for. Receipts that are found, edited, photographed from a screen or made up are refused.
  • Staff cannot earn points on orders they rang up themselves.
  • We may refuse or remove points, cancel rewards, or pause or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may review any receipt before the points land.

Your account

  • You can delete your account in the app under Rewards, Account. Unused points, rewards and offers are then lost.

Changes

We may change the rewards, the points they need and the limits above, or end the program. We will post changes on this page and in the app with a new date.
